Claire Lowe

Her work is influenced by form, texture and colour and is very much about exploration and combination of materials including metal, plastics, mainly resin and mixed media. A reoccurring theme is circles, domes and holes, seeing through the material to another layer, either of clothing, skin or surface. Pieces are worn away from the body and at an angle so that light can be seen through. Claire is interested in contradictory textures and feelings, putting soft surfaces and materials inside hard plastics,creating a visual texture without a sensory feeling. Inspired by the tradition of tea drinking, her current collection combines silver, resin and tealeaves.
