Since leaving the Royal College of Art in 2002, Sarah has developed a unique new process in handmade plastics. She laminates acrylic dust into thin slices which resemble agate that is both lightweight and vivid in colour. It is like working with colour as a material. Compared with acrylic as paint, acrylic as dust has a much wider palette, from soft opaque pastel shades to glowing flourescents. Also, colours do not mix when fused which allows her to produce a variety of multi-coloured and speckled finishes.
The 'Dust Collection' comprises of a wide selection of earrings. Also featured are necklaces with magnetic catches which lay flat against the skin, pendants, brooches, and 'wrap. bangles where colours merge from one to another.
